What is SQL or SEQUEL?

SQL: SQL is structured query language. Also called as SEQUEL. The purpose of the SQL is to control data stored in Relational Databases.

A query can be used retrieves data from one or more of the tables in your database or manipulate data existing in the database. There are many type of SQL statements as follows.

There are four basic types of SQL statements:

  • Data definition language (DDL) statements
  • Data manipulation language (DML) statements
  • Data Control Language (DCL) statements
  • Dynamic SQL statements
